Developmental Enamel Defects (DED): What’s going on?

Presentation Description

Developmental enamel defects present the clinician with difficult challenges in relation to diagnosis, classification, aetiology and treatment considerations. Children presenting with these dental complications have higher rates of decay and pain, often requiring extensive and lengthy treatment. This presentation will provide a summary to better understand this complex topic and provide contemporary approaches to management of such patients within a multi- disciplinary dental setting.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Attendees will gain an understanding of current terminology, research and associated aetiological factors associated with DDE.
2. Treatment options and case studies will be presented to better outline management considerations within a multi-disciplinary setting - providing appropriate timelines for clinical, restorative, orthodontic and suitable referral pathways.
